Feast of Saints Michael, Gabriel, and Raphael, Archangels

Today (Sept 29) is the Feast Day of Saints Michael, Gabriel, and Raphael, Archangels.

Angels are found throughout the Bible, and are believed to roam and fly around the earth. They say that you have your personal guardian angel. And this is based on the day when you were born.  I was born on a Sunday. My guardian angel is Saint Michael the Archangel.

This is Saint Michael the Archangel.

I'm not sure if the world-famous Philippine Beer, San Miguel Beer, was named after Saint Michael (whose Spanish or Filipino name is San Miguel).  All I know is this beer is very popular in the Philippines.  And the company even has a basketball team!!!   How kewl is that?!?

Back to Saint Michael the Archangel.  I regularly pray to St Michael.  They say that he is a powerful guardian angel who drives away evil spirits.  Nowadays, we do need guardians who can drive away the "malas" (bad luck) in our lives, pati na rin sa lahat ng naglipanang maligno sa mundo! (and to all the other bad elements that roam the planet!) Hahaha!!

Here's a prayer to Saint Michael the Archangel to drive away the bad elements.

Prayer to Saint Michael the Archangel

St. Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle.
Be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the Devil.
May God rebuke him, we humbly pray, and do thou,
O Prince of the heavenly hosts, by the power of God,
thrust into hell Satan, and all the evil spirits,
who prowl about the world seeking the ruin of souls.
Amen.

Alternate form:

Holy Michael, the Archangel, defend us in battle.
Be our safeguard against the wickedness and snares of the devil.
May God rebuke him, we humbly pray; and do you,
O Prince of the heavenly host, by the power of God
cast into hell Satan and all the evil spirits
who wander through the world seeking the ruin of souls.
Amen.

Amen to that!

Happy Fiesta (Feast Day) to Saint Michael and to all the Archangels!!
